Company
For over 70 years, we have been a wholesale casing supplier and distributor helping meat processors across the country find the right casings and packaging for their products. From a single phone call to a full truckload bulk order, we treat every customer the same way, with straight answers and fast service.
1952, The Beginning
Globe Casings was founded in the Bronx, New York, with a single goal, to give local sausage makers a reliable source for quality natural casings. From day one, our reputation was built on knowing the products, keeping them in stock, and treating every customer like a neighbor.
Early 1970s, Moving to New Jersey and Expanding the Line
As the business grew, we relocated to Lodi, New Jersey and expanded into fibrous and non edible collagen casings. These artificial casings gave customers a more consistent and affordable option alongside natural casings. Around the same time, we introduced custom clipping and looping services, cutting and preparing casings to each customer's exact specifications right here in house.
Mid-1970s and Beyond, A Broader Product Range
Over the following years, we continued adding products that our customers were asking for. The Hukki line of specialty casings joined our catalog, followed by edible collagen casings and peelable cellulose casings for skinless frankfurter production. We also added elastic salami netting, ham stockinettes, and aluminum clips to serve the full range of what a sausage operation needs day to day.
1990s, Plastic Casings Come to the U.S. Market
Globe was among the first to introduce thermoshrinkable plastic casings to the U.S. market. These multilayer casings quickly became popular for their excellent cooking performance, long shelf life, and the ability to be printed with up to ten colors, giving processors a powerful tool for retail branding and deli presentation.
2000s, Vacuum Pouches, Shrink Bags, and a New Home
We introduced our own line of Extra Clear™ vacuum pouches and thermoshrinkable shrink bags, rounding out our offering from casings into full meat packaging. The continued growth of the business led us to our current location, 368 Paterson Plank Road in Carlstadt, New Jersey, where we moved in 2006. We are located directly across the street from MetLife Stadium and American Dream Meadowlands.
