About Our 5-Layer Thermoshrinkable Plastic Casings

We stock 5-layer thermoshrinkable plastic casings manufactured from PA/PE (Polyamide/Polyethylene) multilayer film. The 5-layer structure provides very good water vapour, oxygen, and UV radiation barrier properties, protecting product aroma, freshness, and shelf life for up to 90 days depending on the product type and thermal processing applied.

These casings are thermoshrinkable. They shrink tightly around the product during thermal processing, producing an unwrinkled, smooth, professional surface appearance. Only unprocessed, food contact approved polymers of highest quality are used in manufacture.

Material Composition

PA (Polyamide), provides strength, durability, and gas barrier properties, helping maintain product freshness
PE (Polyethylene), offers flexibility, sealability, and moisture resistance

Recommended Overfilling

Recommended overfilling is approximately 3%–5% for all diameters.

Soaking & Preparation

Soak in running water at 20–25°C before use. Do not use higher temperature as this will activate thermoshrinkability
Soak evenly on the inside and outside
Minimum soak time: 30 minutes for non shirred cut sections; 60 minutes for shirred casing
Soak only as much as can be used within 4–5 hours
Change soaking water at least once every 12 hours
The casing must not contact any rough surface during preparation

Recommended Thermal Processing Schedule (Steam)

⚠️ After steam cooking, sausage sticks must be cooled immediately by running water, shower, or programmable sprinklers. Do not place hot sticks directly into the cold room. This will cause wrinkling of the casing surface.

Not suitable for microwave oven heating
Not suitable for consumption, remove before serving
Stick weight should not exceed 4.5 kg for hanging treatment
Do not stack casing rolls without spacers between them
After disinfecting steam chambers with chemicals, rinse thoroughly before use, chemical residue can delaminate casing printing or damage the casing surface

Storage Conditions

Store in original packaging in a dry, clean, cool location
Storage temperature below 25°C, humidity 30–75%
Unpack directly before use
Keep away from direct sunlight and high temperature sources
Condition at 10–25°C for at least 24 hours before use after transport
If transported below 10°C, extend conditioning time accordingly
