Cellulose casings are manufactured from regenerated plant cellulose and are designed to be removed from the product after processing. They are the backbone of high speed frankfurter and hot dog manufacturing, providing excellent dimensional consistency, outstanding smoke and flavor permeability, and full compatibility with automated stuffing and peeling lines.
We offer two categories: Small Caliber Cellulose Casings for skinless frankfurters and similar products, and Big Caliber Cellulose Casings for larger cooked, smoked, or formed products. See full details for each below.

Small caliber cellulose casings combine high elasticity with extremely consistent caliber. They are permeable to flavors and colors during the smoking process but impermeable to unwanted aromas. Their excellent peelability ensures trouble free industrial processing on high speed automated peeling equipment.

We stock skinless cellulose casings in the following calibers. If you do not see the size you need, call us, additional sizes may be available on request.
Common sizes include 24mm and 26mm skinless casing for standard hot dogs and frankfurters, and 31mm and 34mm for jumbo franks and specialty products.
Skinless cellulose casings are supplied as shirred strands. The most common strand lengths are listed below. Other lengths may be available depending on caliber and production run.

Big caliber cellulose casings are permeable tubes made from regenerated cellulose. Their transparent, high gloss properties combined with excellent printing capability make your products highly merchandisable. Depending on caliber, cylindrical or oval shaped products can be achieved.
